magic_silver_box is a weird guy who likes to slap people on IRC. A lover of solitude and beauty, he keeps a watchful eye for places of quiet tranquility so he can go spazz out in them. Gentle, introverted, and appreciative of peace and purity, magic_silver_box finds solace taking slow walks and turning attention toward the hidden workings of nature in the details of his surroundings, while having what look to some like seizures.

magic_silver_box discovered electronic music while lying in bed one night as an eleven-year-old, when his radio drifted onto a brand-new (and short-lived) station called MARS-FM. Spending his early-nineties adolescence collecting homemade tapes of what would later be called classic house and hardcore techno, magic_silver_box's mental development and personal worldview were colored by the sounds of vintage analog synthesizers and early sampling workstations. His tastes expanded through his teenage years to a deep love for the goa trance sounds of the late nineties, which led to his college radio show "Hypnotic State" on KCSB-FM at the University of California, Santa Barbara. magic_silver_box finished college in 2002 and today he basically likes to wiggle around.

magic_silver_box has produced tracks for almost as long a time as it takes him to finish a song. He expresses a personal vision for music where sounds interact with each other with the same interconnection one finds between events in the physical world. This has compelled him to spend an unreasonable amount of money on CV-controlled modular gear and envelope followers. His influences betray a taste for anything from psytrance and cinematic techno to today's minimal, tech house, and electro styles.

magic_silver_box goes to church a lot and doesn't like to do the hump or ingest psychoactive chemicals. Instead he rides his skateboard. He also likes to DJ so if you book him somewhere he will probably give you a very big hug unless that would make you uncomfortable.
